Mission
To stimulate and encourage an interest in the field of law enforcment for young men and women while providing a structured and disciplined enviorment through training and activities that instill the highest standards in ethics, morals and intergrity.
Description
The Jackson Township Police Exploeres is a non-profit organization made up of young adults between 14 and 20 years of age. We meet every Monday at 1830 to 2030 hours. The meetings are held at the Jackson Township Police Department, located at 102 Jackson Township Drive in the Jackson Township Justice Complex.

At these meetings we learn about law enfocement in a classroom type setting or by doing contolled scenarios. Sometimes there are guest speakers who may be from different agencies to come speak with us about a certain topic.

Physical training (PT) is done at meetings too. Police officers are required to run for extended distances, jump or climb over obstacles, pull themselves over or through objects, and face other physical demands. As such, explorers must meet minimum physical standards.

We assist the Jackson Township Police by doing crowd and traffic control at events such as the Six Flags Camporee, Jackson Day, and parades (just to name a few). Explorers also act as an extra set of eyes and ears for the police department.

When an explorer has had adequate training and meets the age requirment, they can participate in ride alongs. A ride along is when an uniformed explorer goes on patrol with an officer from the the department. They observe what an officer does on a routine patrol and can assit the officer with traffic control, first aid, and note taking.

If you are interested in joining and meeting all requirments, print and fill out an application completely, and return to address with all other required paperwork ( paperwork can be found in the "GET INVOLVED" tab.) You will be contacted for an interview after you application has been reviewed
